The following poem I would like to share this evening is taken from Outkast's second album ATLiens and the name of the song is 13th Floor/Growing Old. I was listening to this album this past weekend wondering at what point did songs like this one with such depth began to loose its relevance in the realm of the pop hip-hop culture. By pop, I mean popular because this album sold over 2 million plus copies in the U.S. alone and maybe another million worldwide. There are still shining lights of inspiration that have been around for some years and those that have started to emerge recently which deserve their credit. But Im pretty sure NO one would argue that their has been a huge lose in terms of balance in black music for the past few years.

(This 1st Verse was a poem written & spoken by Big Rube.)
Conceive true deception multiplied a million fold
Visualize the yin and yang in a battle so intense
that we get em confused
The resident evil specialize in misconstruing
We wanna be at a presidential level -- what are we doing?
Foolin ourself, clowning ourself, playing ourself
By not being ourself
We can't babble no more than we can bob our head offbeat
Nimrod by the time we forty cause we can't get our meat
While we ask no reason for the misplacement of the season
look at the picture that's painted
Tainted as the mind who's blinded to the point
where Sodomites get all the rights
We fall for fights with fisticuffs
Get pissed enough to miss the bus
It disgusts me to see my folks run up on
I say stand upon a section of time call of Revelations
And recognize this mind on the reality of horror
known as mankind
Jesus and his twelve disciples make thirteen
A righteous number of righteous men
Even Judas the Betrayer came true in the end
The Devil say the end is the beginning
They teach that we were the product of incest
Invest no level of self into their system of Paganomics
Stand with us and don't look back upon it
Just face this mindstate
Otherwise Babylon...

Heaven's Galaxy

Hey there everyone... Its been some time since I've shared my thoughts with you and the rest of the world via this page but I must say that I am very excited to get back to it! This evening I would like to share a poem with you all... This poem was actually written by my brother so I hope you digging it as much as I am. The title of this particular piece is called Heaven's Galaxy.
Feel Free To Respond & Leave Comments.

Heaven’s Galaxy

Bodies at play

Heat builds

Colors reveal

As light begins to radiate

Her essence giving in to me

Merging to build a beautiful nebula

A star filled system just for the two of us

Passionate radio waves scream out sounding like moans

While elements condense and drip like sweat

Engulfing our planetary bodies as we create this paradise

Astrally exposed from being the barer of her Ecstasy

Electromagnetic bandwidths slowly whispers each others name

Cosmic cravings to go deeper physically and metaphysically

Uncovers the beginning of the glorious celestial rebirth ahead

Galactic Eden

Time shift

Bodies build

As stars explode with passion

Last Night's Trip

As I reveal my Trunk Full of Dreams I find myself traveling to places all over the entire World... But none could compare to the trip I made last night. Last Night's Trip was a journey from the city that I currently reside back to the city I call home Columbus, GA. This trip was different than the many I've made back home because it marked the first time for me performing at Home since revealing my Trunk Full of Dreams to the world.
One of the biggest parts of being a real man is always being honest and I wouldn't be any of those things if I said that I was not nervous about sharing my art with my home town. C-town as we love to call it... Although it has always been in my opinion been very diverse in comparison to other Southern cities of the same size which most would agree comes by way of the large military base in Columbus that bring soldiers and their families from all parts of the country to live there...It has at times like many areas within our society been consumed with the status quo but I am pleased to say that Last Night's Trip was like me...Different. With all that being said I was nervous about how I would be received since my approach to displaying my artistry is so left field, but like I said in the second verse of the title track from my album I've never turned away from a challenge.
The Ending.......After all I had in me was left on the stage and the drummers last beat, the keyboard players last chord, and the last riffs from the guitar had stop echoing I was greeted by the sound of applause... And although It wasn't the stadium of thousands of people I played to in Miami or Chicago that loved my music...And it wasn't the club packed with hundreds of college kids in Oxford, Ms or Athens, GA that love my music.... It was a packed out crowd in a not so small soulful club called The Hookah Lounge in my Home Town that truly enjoyed what I did! Which I must say was the Greatest of them all.. It is something to be said about being received well by those who you directly represent...

From Last Night's Trip I take with me what will forever be a life long memory.

Twinkle twinkle little star...

Today I woke up thinking... It amazes me how much trust we put into people we don't really know. In this instance I am referring to our society's perception of stars and the power we give them to disappoint us and let us down. I too have fallen victim to this train of thought in past times myself but those days are long gone now. This is not to say that I myself don't have my own role models, people I admire or look up to for inspiration at times. I am merely expressing the importance of keeping the proper perception of these people and after doing so teaching our youth to do the same. Which leads me to the root of this post. A young man told me he was so disappointed by the actions of his role model who happen to be famous that he started acting out in school and his grades started slipping. He said that it was hard to look for positive role models in the urban environments he is living and has lived. So as a result he looked up to stars. I told this young man that stars are in the sky and people like me and you walk the earth. And, I told him it is perfectly okay if chosen properly to have role models and people you look to but remember that they themselves are not perfect but are mere humans. The fact they are human like you and I is what makes them great role models because it means that you have the same amount of ability to accomplish what they have and even more. I stressed that when these heros of ours make mistakes just use that information to be a flashlight in a dark path in your own life so that you don't make the same mistakes. See to me saying just because you are a star doesn't mean you have to be a positive role model is about as crazy as saying yeah I'm a truck driver but I can drink alcohol and drive without any sleep and this kind of behavior will never effect anyone other than me. This also raises a question of parenting or the lack there of... because for me my biggest heros have been my parents. Whether we are stars or not it is time all of us start understanding the responsibility and the power we have to influence those around us by setting a positive example to follow because you never know who's life you may be affecting in the process.

New Season

I am really looking forward to this
New Season of Where Did Shevy Go?

As many of you already know I will be changing up the format by which I debut my weekly videos but do not fear the videos themselves will still be available for you to go back and watch on youtube. I have received tons of emails from friends and fans just like you telling me how much they enjoyed watching my videos and I just wanted to thank you again for all the love you have shown. This season I will be adding a few things to increase the quality of the videos. The first is I will be adding my Words Of the Week(WOW) at the end of every video. WOW as I like to call it will be a famous and sometimes not so famous quote from someone else other than myself but was an inspiration to me at some point that I would like to pass along. Another feature I will be adding is The Topic of the Week. Just before the end of every video you will see Shevy pop out and ask you for your opinion on a topic. Feel free to comment and give your perspective for it is Greatly appreciated. Also if you have any ideas you would like to see developed in my series please email me at whatup@findshevy.com

Thanks Again & God Bless!

On The Scene

Okay Im officially back on the scene sorta.... what does that whole "Back on the scene" thing mean anyway...? What is quite intriguing is that whoever was the first one to come up with that phrase obviously understood that being in the lime light is similar to doing a movie or play... and the fact that they used the word 'back' means there was a reason for their departure in the first place... & why would you be happy to be back in a fake environment? Hhhhmmm....
Just me rambling a little bit
